Tides

When something interrupts
Your ebb and flow
And you're unsure
Whether to come or go
Rooted to the spot
Can't decide what's right
Should you stand your ground
Or run in flight
Doubting yourself
In every way
I saw that look
On her face today

When you're all at sea
And it's been a while
The paths to choose
Confuse, beguile
Your compass spins
Erratically
While you circle, circle
Endlessly
Spinning in the middle
In disarray
I saw that look
On his face today

It's three forty nine
No signs of dawn
With foggy head
I stretch, I yawn
My internal alarm
Too early rang
Now I'm pulled by yin
And dragged by yang
Weary, bleary
Come what may
You'll see the tired
On my face today
