Seat 40

One older, one younger
For a moment best friends
Sharing time side by side
Until their journey ends

Sunlight streams in the window
As the countryside flies by
I wonder what they're thinking
As I look to catch their eye

Think I'll describe them now
As they're both so very fair
To give you a picture
Of their appearance, their air

The older, seems thoughtful
Crossword puzzle to stimulate
Gentle seems her nature
Almost happy to wait

Till the destination is reached
Or may be that's me
Reading too much in to something
That I simply can't see

Wonder where she is headed
And what she will do
When the journey is over
Is she coming home to you?

The younger is pretty
May be stunning is right
Hair falling softly
Eyes piercingly bright

Lost in conversation
With phone in right hand
May be she's just trying
To make it go as smoothly as planned

Wonder where she is headed
With her graceful style
Does she know deep down
She has a most beautiful smile

I'm parked in number 40
When I check out my seat
I'm grateful to you ladies
You've made my trip complete
